Case Study

Municipal Flood Management Planning

Watershed-Based Flood Management Planning was provided for an 8.2 square mile watershed covering three municipalities. Engineering Services included GIS Mapping Services, Field Evaluations, Watershed Inventories, Flood Mitigation Design, Construction Cost Estimates, and other services. The results included low-cost and environmentally sound methods to increase flood storage by 480 acre-feet. This represented a 65% increase in the 100-year flood storage volume for the watershed. Site Plans include BMP descriptions and locations for water quality and flood control. Stream erosion problem areas, wetland restoration project areas, riparian vegetation areas of concern, and other items were also identified.
